Wino Interviews Robert O. Smasne of Smasne Cellars at Taste Washington

We got a chance to spend some time with Robert O. Smasne of Smasne Cellars and AlmaTerra at Taste Washington last weekend. Smasne currently makes wines for twenty-two different wineries including a few of his own projects, so if you’ve been drinking Washington wines, odds are you’ve had a Smasne wine and enjoyed it.     So basically 22 or so wineries are not really wineries but rather store fronts for one winemaker's creations? Just wondering why people start wineries only to NOT make their own wine. Kind of like being a bakery that buys bread from a real baker and puts their name on the package. As a consumer, I am tired of fakes, if I want Smasne's wines I will buy his….but don't try to sell me your wines as yours if their are actually his. Hey Wino Mag, do some investigative reporting on how many WA wineries are fakes. That would make for some good reporting
